A few months ago, we received a note from Wilma that said, "I appreciate your help so much.  You're now part of the little chain of people that makes my life possible."

Wilma has multiple health conditions and needs to make regular trips to the doctor's office to stay well.  She also needs to get to the pharmacy, the bank, and the grocery store to buy the foods that keep her strong.

But Wilma can't drive and she has no family or friends that can take her.

That's where we come in.  When Wilma needs a ride, she calls us.  We pick her up, help her into the car, and get her safely home.   We're not a taxi service.  We're not Uber.  We're a lifeline for Wilma and hundreds of other older adults just like her who want to live independently in their own homes.

At Valley Program for Aging Services (VPAS), we've been helping adults 60 years and older and their families navigate aging for more than 40 years.  We're located in 5 counties throughout the Shenandoah Valley: Augusta, Bath, Rockbridge, Rockingham, Highland, and the cities within.

VPAS creates a circle of care for older adults and their caregivers that helps them to lead healthy and engaged lives.  We provide solutions customized to the unique needs of our neighbors, including meals for homebound residents, senior center and recreation programs, transportation, Medicare counseling, in-home personal care, health classes, and referrals to a host of other services.

And as the number of senior citizens in our area skyrockets, the need for senior transportation is growing.  We have waiting lists of older neighbors just like Wilma who need to get to medical appointments and other life necessary destinations.

With your help, we can get more vulnerable older adults like Wilma on the road to good health.  Will you buy a ride for a senior who can't drive today?
