The Harrisonburg Rockingham Child Day Care Center was established in 1971 in response to a recognized need for child care in the community.
Our center is a United Way funded agency licensed by the State of Virginia, with a capcity to care for up to 111 children between two and twelve years of age. We offer a sliding fee based on the parent's weekly gross income.
In order to provide the sliding fee scale we rely on funding from United Way, Virginia Department of Social Services, USDA, grants and other fundraising.
Since our 1971 beginning, the center has been housed in two local churches, currently Muhlenberg Lutheran Church, but we are not affiliated with any religious group or denomination.
For the Great Community Give, we are setting a goal of $10,000 to help subsidize the expenses of having a sliding fee scale. Even with our grants and United Way funding our food costs, classroom materials and maintenance costs are not 100% covered. Your donation will help support families that, otherwise would not be able to afford high quality child care.
